Thirty-one other rooms let Ephesians Prysock slide, and the Dolphins were the ones holding the card at No. 227. Highway robbery. The bottom line is a respectable B+.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. The Dolphins indulged a want in Ramsey while a need in quarterback and linebacker stayed open.
The Spears-Jennings reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 18 they get a lead back with juice at a price that makes it sweeter. A real need, handled.
Emmanuel Pregnon in No. 47 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A need, and now a little less of one.
A reach for Derrick Moore in slot 48; a little patience would have been rewarded. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
LT Overton at the Round 2 slot is a conviction pick that outran the value. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
You do not let an interior defensive lineman like Christen Miller reach pick No. 75 and blink. They did not. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Jake Slaughter in the 79th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Emmanuel McNeil-Warren at the 87th overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Germie Bernard in pick 90, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Ted Hurst in pick 92. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They zigged when the board said zag, taking Kamari Ramsey at safety with quarterback and linebacker open.
Taking Devin Moore in Round 4, Pick 12 is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Of all the spots to shop, they chose cornerback. Jalon Kilgore in No. 116 leaves quarterback and linebacker for later.
Justin Joly slipping to slot 130 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
No edge and no loss on Zxavian Harris in the Round 5 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
