The needs board said one thing and the Cardinals did another, using slot 47 on Benjamin Morrison while quarterback, wide receiver and other spots waited. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
The back end got a real overhaul.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
No drama and no debate, Shavon Revel Jr. went about where he belonged in the 16th pick. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending the 47th pick on Benjamin Morrison with quarterback, wide receiver and other spots unsolved.
Kyle Kennard in pick No. 78 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They took Billy Bowman Jr. at par in No. 114, which is nothing to complain about. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Michael Taaffe at the 148th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
