Hard to follow the map here. The Chiefs bypassed tight end and quarterback to take Cade Stover at Round 3, Pick 28, a spot they had covered.
The tight end hole is the one line item this class does not answer. That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 28 they get a cornerstone up front. The biggest hole, addressed.
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 60, where Devontez Walker graded well above the range. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A surprising call. With tight end and quarterback still to address, they spent the Round 3 slot on Cade Stover, a TE-EDGE they were not short of.
Kamal Hadden in the 128th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Keith Randolph Jr. in the 161st overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
No edge and no loss on Curtis Jacobs in No. 171; it is a wash and a sensible one. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jordan Jefferson. It fills a real need, too.
They did well to land Jawhar Jordan in Round 6, Pick 31, just ahead of his grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
