The Ravens ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided. It does the job without flash, and the B+ reflects it.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Thieneman. They punted on running back, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
The Bowry pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 23 they get a blindside protector. The biggest hole, addressed.
Zion Young in pick 42 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Dillon Thieneman at Round 2, Pick 17 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
The board had cheaper options than Skyler Bell at the 77th overall pick, and it noticed. A need, and now a little less of one.
They did well to land Elijah Sarratt in No. 82, just ahead of his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Nice patience on Connor Lew, who had no business lasting to pick No. 97. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A premium they did not need to pay, Jude Bowry a notch or two before his time. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Nothing to complain about; Jack Endries went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They took Charles Demmings at par in the 147th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, DeMonte Capehart at No. 150. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They liked Zane Durant enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 173. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A straight-up fair deal on Josh Cameron at the Round 6 slot, value and slot in agreement. The roster fit checks out.
