When a board-topper like Anthony Hill Jr. slides to slot 130, you do not overthink it, and the Dolphins did not.
For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.
They left with quarterback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. Trading back for volume was the quiet throughline of their weekend.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
They read the board right and Rueben Bain Jr. was the payoff at the Round 1 slot. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
In pick 30 they get a downhill thumper at linebacker at a price that makes it sweeter.
Olaivavega Ioane at slot 47 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Somehow Caleb Tiernan was still sitting there in the 75th pick, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They barely believed it either: Germie Bernard still on the board at the 87th overall pick. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Taking Emmanuel McNeil-Warren in No. 90 is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
A tight end of that caliber at Round 3, Pick 28 is the definition of value, full stop. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Jake Golday at pick No. 94 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Ted Hurst at the 112th overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.

Drew Allar in No. 177 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Domani Jackson in Round 7, Pick 11 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
You do not let an offensive lineman like Jeremiah Wright reach pick 238 and blink. They did not. It fills a real need, too.
