Thirty-one other rooms let Graham Barton slide, and the Chiefs were the ones holding the card at the 61st pick. Highway robbery.
A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. The skill positions did well by the weekend.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a No. 1 receiver at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Graham Barton in pick No. 61, plain and simple. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Jalen McMillan is a better player than pick 92 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A cornerback of that caliber at No. 129 is the definition of value, full stop. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Good price on Austin Booker in the 161st pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. The roster fit checks out.
Curtis Jacobs at the 171st overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
No edge and no loss on Isaiah Davis in slot 175; it is a wash and a sensible one. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Erick All in Round 6, Pick 32 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
