The rest of the league will want that one back. Cobee Bryant tumbling to the Commanders in Round 7, Pick 20 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
They punted on tight end, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They went 3 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a potential shutdown corner. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Demetrius Knight Jr. at pick No. 61 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Isaiah Bond in the 79th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A offensive lineman of that caliber at slot 148 is the definition of value, full stop. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Taking Dont'e Thornton Jr. in Round 6, Pick 29 is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Cobee Bryant at No. 238 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A quiet steal in the 250th overall pick: LaJohntay Wester for less than the market said. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
