When a board-topper like Johnny Wilson slides to pick 95, you do not overthink it, and the Chiefs did not.
They will regret leaving tight end for another day if the season turns on it. Every board in the league had Ford lower, and that gap is the story.
Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered. The skill positions did well by the weekend.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Fair-plus on Brian Thomas Jr., a quiet win that adds up over a draft. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Nice patience on Kingsley Suamataia, who had no business lasting to the 64th overall pick. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Circle this one: Johnny Wilson at No. 95 is a fall that decides a draft. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Dillon Johnson slid further than he should have, and pick No. 133 is lovely value for the running back. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A slide stopped in pick 158, with Luke McCaffrey worth more than the price. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They paid up for Jaylan Ford at the Round 5 slot when waiting would have done the job. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
