Thirty-one other rooms let Ajani Cornelius slide, and the Texans were the ones holding the card at Round 5, Pick 28. Highway robbery. More right than wrong, and a B+ to match.
The phones were where this weekend was really won. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 25 they get a difference-maker at receiver, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They took Donovan Jackson at par in Round 3, Pick 23, which is nothing to complain about. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They paid sticker price for Dylan Fairchild in No. 89, and that is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Value with a capital V on Devin Neal in the Round 3 slot, a genuine coup. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They barely believed it either: Malachi Moore still on the board at the 127th overall pick. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
A offensive lineman of that caliber at pick 167 is the definition of value, full stop. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
