The Packers cashed the board's mistake on McCormick: B.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Packers watched Mason McCormick slide 28 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.

Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Byron Murphy II · DL · rank 20
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a run-stuffing presence up front at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Chop Robinson · DE-EDGE · rank 35
Chop Robinson in No. 41 lands just on the right side of the ledger. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R2.25 · Pick 57 · Kingsley Suamataia · OT · rank 53
Nothing to complain about; Kingsley Suamataia went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It fills a real need, too.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Jalen McMillan · WR · rank 77
Value with a capital V on Jalen McMillan in the 88th pick, a genuine coup. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Mike Sainristil · CB · rank 80
Mike Sainristil at pick 91 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R4.26 · Pick 126 · Mason McCormick · OT · rank 98
Mason McCormick in the Round 4 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The roster fit checks out.
R5.32 · Pick 168 · McCallan Castles · TE · rank 156
A slide stopped in slot 168, with McCallan Castles worth more than the price. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R6.28 · Pick 203 · Josh Proctor · S · rank 197
A clean, defensible pick in pick No. 203 with a little surplus value in Josh Proctor. A minor itch, scratched.
R6.41 · Pick 216 · Michael Wiley · RB · rank 198
A top-tier running back at a bargain, Michael Wiley in Round 6, Pick 41, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R7.23 · Pick 243 · Sam Hartman · QB · rank 231
Sam Hartman slipping to slot 243 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R7.31 · Pick 251 · Josh Wallace · CB · rank 223
A cornerback of that caliber at No. 251 is the definition of value, full stop. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
