You could see the war room lean forward. De'Corian Clark at the Round 7 slot is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Very little went wrong, and the A is earned.
The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want. The Zinter reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
Trust the process, because this time the process plainly worked.
Pick-by-Pick
Kool-Aid McKinstry in slot 22 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Kingsley Suamataia in Round 2, Pick 22 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. at the 67th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the linebacker. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Zak Zinter at the Round 3 slot is a conviction pick that outran the value. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Braden Fiske at No. 101 is the proof. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Sedrick Van Pran slid further than he should have, and pick No. 102 is lovely value for the offensive lineman. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Fair-plus on Shemar Turner, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They took Justin Eboigbe at par in the 181st pick, which is nothing to complain about. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Circle this one: De'Corian Clark at slot 223 is a fall that decides a draft. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
