Thirty-one other rooms let Xavier Watts slide, and the Packers were the ones holding the card at Round 3, Pick 26. Highway robbery.
The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 28th overall pick they get a building block for the line. A real need, handled.
Tyler Booker in the 59th pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It fills a real need, too.
A safety of that caliber at slot 90 is the definition of value, full stop. It adds depth where they could use a little.
They will replay TreVeyon Henderson at pick No. 129 for years; that is how good the value is. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Jack Nelson in No. 163 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Davison Igbinosun in Round 6, Pick 27. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Circle this one: Luke Lachey at the Round 7 slot is a fall that decides a draft. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
