The Browns went off the board in a big way for Drew Allar, 51 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. Landing Thomas that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. Job largely done: quarterback settled and 4 of 9 of the wish list covered.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 6 they get a true top target. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
In the Round 1 slot they get a matchup problem out wide at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They paid sticker price for Anthony Hill Jr. in pick No. 39, and that is fine. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Connor Lew in No. 70 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Drew Allar in slot 107 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Taylen Green at the 149th overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.

No drama and no debate, Pat Coogan went about where he belonged in pick No. 206. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They reached into another round for Terion Stewart, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They let Zavion Thomas come to them and pounced at pick 248. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
