The Patriots spent the pick that matters most on Bo Nix, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. The bottom line is a respectable B.
Odunze falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. Reaching for Nix left real value on the table behind him.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 10th overall pick they get their guy under center for the next decade, even if it was a touch early. A real need, handled.
Circle this one: Rome Odunze at slot 34 is a fall that decides a draft. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Devontez Walker in pick No. 43 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
No edge and no loss on Blake Corum in the Round 3 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
