It is the swing that defines the weekend: Tip Reiman in Round 5, Pick 36, a good 52 spots before the room expected him. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. Landing Wilson that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 26th pick they get a home-run threat at receiver at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
In No. 32 they get a sticky cover corner. Need was not the driver here.
Kingsley Suamataia at Round 2, Pick 32 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Javon Baker in pick 95 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
James Williams at the 133rd overall pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Johnny Wilson in the Round 5 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They reached a country mile for Tip Reiman at No. 172, and the board is aghast. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
