Green Bay Packers

The Packers aced the weekend. Grade: A-.

The Bryce Foster pick is the one that will follow the Packers into the fall. They took him 92 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so.

However the rest shakes out, Monheim at that price is a win they earned. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.

Few war rooms will sleep better than this one tonight.

Pick-by-Pick

R2.8 · Pick 40 · Taliese Fuaga · OT · rank 26
Taliese Fuaga in the 40th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R2.12 · Pick 44 · Josh Newton · CB · rank 35
A tidy bit of business in the Round 2 slot, where Josh Newton graded well above the range. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R2.19 · Pick 51 · Cooper DeJean · CB · rank 60
A premium they did not need to pay, Cooper DeJean a notch or two before his time. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R3.2 · Pick 66 · TreVeyon Henderson · RB · rank 84
TreVeyon Henderson at Round 3, Pick 2 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R3.24 · Pick 87 · Tyler Guyton · OT · rank 64
They robbed the room for Tyler Guyton here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Quinyon Mitchell · CB · rank 53
Quinyon Mitchell in pick 88 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R4.19 · Pick 119 · Audric Estime · RB · rank 111
Audric Estime at No. 119 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R4.35 · Pick 135 · Bryce Foster · C · rank 227
They reached a country mile for Bryce Foster at pick 135, and the board is aghast. The roster fit checks out.
R6.22 · Pick 197 · Jamari Thrash · WR · rank 170
Circle this one: Jamari Thrash at the 197th pick is a fall that decides a draft. A need, and now a little less of one.
R6.42 · Pick 217 · Jack Nelson · OT · rank 173
You do not let an offensive lineman like Jack Nelson reach the 217th overall pick and blink. They did not. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R6.44 · Pick 219 · Jonah Monheim · OT · rank 151
Steal is underselling it; Jonah Monheim at the Round 6 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R7.3 · Pick 223 · Jahdae Barron · S · rank 234
Jahdae Barron at pick No. 223 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A minor itch, scratched.
R7.20 · Pick 240 · De'Corian Clark · WR · rank 215
De'Corian Clark at Round 7, Pick 20 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It fills a real need, too.
