They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Jayden Daniels is the Giants' quarterback, full stop.
Benson at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The safety spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Holker reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 6 they get a long-term answer under center at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Ennis Rakestraw Jr. in the 47th pick. The roster fit checks out.
They took Ja'Lynn Polk at par in the Round 3 slot, which is nothing to complain about. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They robbed the room for Trey Benson here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A need, and now a little less of one.
A premium they did not need to pay, Dallin Holker a notch or two before his time. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They paid sticker price for Jordan Jefferson in Round 6, Pick 8, and that is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
