The Commanders spent the pick that matters most on Drake Maye, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape.
The Thomas Jr. steal is the beam this whole class leans on. Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the running back spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 2 they get a franchise quarterback at fair value.
A tidy bit of business in the 36th pick, where Graham Barton graded well above the range. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
The board had Brian Thomas Jr. higher than the Round 2 slot, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They let Adisa Isaac come to them and pounced at the 67th overall pick. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Nothing to complain about; Cade Stover went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
No drama and no debate, Cam Hart went about where he belonged in slot 100. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
