The Packers' one glaring miss is edge rusher, a need they left exactly as they found it. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
The Jordan pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. They are betting Puni proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 25 they get a press-man option on the boundary at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Graham Barton in slot 41 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. The roster fit checks out.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jackson Powers-Johnson in pick No. 57. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Nothing to complain about; Mike Sainristil went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A reach for Dominick Puni in the 91st overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
MarShawn Lloyd in the 125th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Fair-plus on Cole Bishop, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
They paid sticker price for Gabe Hall in the Round 6 slot, and that is fine. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Kenny Logan Jr. in pick No. 217 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
A tidy bit of business in No. 219, where Jawhar Jordan graded well above the range. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Tatum Bethune at the 246th overall pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It adds depth where they could use a little.
