Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The Dolphins never addressed quarterback, and it is the kind of gap that lingers. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Cooper. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Troy Fautanu in the 36th overall pick. The roster fit checks out.
Edgerrin Cooper in Round 3, Pick 3 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Johnny Wilson at pick 81 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Khyree Jackson. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Austin Booker in slot 158 is fair value, right on his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Nothing to complain about; Curtis Jacobs went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They took Christian Jones at par in the Round 6 slot, which is nothing to complain about. It fills a real need, too.
By-the-book stuff, Maurice Smith at No. 242 squarely in line with his ranking. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
