The Packers cashed the board's mistake on Chambers: B.

This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Steele Chambers, the No. 199 name on the board, stolen at the 245th overall pick.

If Proctor pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Quinyon Mitchell · CB · rank 19
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a ballhawk on the outside. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · JC Latham · OT · rank 15
JC Latham at the 41st overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R2.26 · Pick 58 · Junior Colson · LB · rank 52
Junior Colson in pick 58 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Jaylen Wright · RB · rank 71
Jaylen Wright at the 88th pick is money in the bank, a running back taken below his worth. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Kiran Amegadjie · OT · rank 66
They robbed the room for Kiran Amegadjie here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It fills a real need, too.
R4.26 · Pick 126 · Kitan Oladapo · S · rank 153
They reached into another round for Kitan Oladapo, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
R5.33 · Pick 169 · Fabien Lovett · DL · rank 183
The board had cheaper options than Fabien Lovett at No. 169, and it noticed. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R6.27 · Pick 202 · Josh Proctor · S · rank 243
Josh Proctor in slot 202 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
R6.44 · Pick 219 · Garret Greenfield · OT · rank 216
They did well to land Garret Greenfield in Round 6, Pick 44, just ahead of his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R7.25 · Pick 245 · Steele Chambers · LB · rank 199
Steele Chambers at pick No. 245 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
R7.35 · Pick 255 · Sheridan Jones · CB · rank 219
Sheridan Jones in the Round 7 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
