When a board-topper like Jacob Rodriguez slides to the 98th pick, you do not overthink it, and the Eagles did not. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
The Dennis-Sutton pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a blindside protector at fair value. A real need, handled.
Dani Dennis-Sutton at pick 57 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A tidy bit of business in No. 68, where Zachariah Branch graded well above the range. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A linebacker of that caliber at slot 98 is the definition of value, full stop. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
No edge and no loss on Joe Royer in the Round 4 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They took DeMonte Capehart at par in the 129th pick, which is nothing to complain about. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Jakobe Thomas in the 137th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Charles Demmings at pick No. 153 is the proof. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Nothing to complain about; Febechi Nwaiwu went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A real head-scratcher, Isaiah Jatta in pick 215 is miles ahead of his ranking. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
