There is a lot to like until you notice edge rusher is still a hole. The Packers never got to the one that mattered most.
However the rest shakes out, Beebe at that price is a win they earned. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 25 they get a cornerstone up front. A real need, handled.
Edgerrin Cooper in the 41st overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
No drama and no debate, Kamren Kinchens went about where he belonged in Round 2, Pick 26. A minor itch, scratched.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Cooper Beebe at pick 88. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
By-the-book stuff, Trey Benson at the 91st pick squarely in line with his ranking. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Josh Newton in the Round 4 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Good price on Luke McCaffrey in No. 168, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A need, and now a little less of one.
