Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Connor Lew got past him. The Titans do not have to explain a thing at the Round 4 slot. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 4th pick they get a bell-cow for the offense. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Omar Cooper Jr. in Round 2, Pick 3 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Keionte Scott at the 66th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Connor Lew in pick No. 101, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A straight-up fair deal on Dametrious Crownover at the Round 5 slot, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Isaiah World at pick 144 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
By-the-book stuff, DJ Campbell at slot 184 squarely in line with his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Good price on Red Murdock in No. 194, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A need, and now a little less of one.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Zavion Thomas in No. 225. The roster fit checks out.
