The Eagles ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided. The bottom line is a respectable B+.
Landing Simpson that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
The Eagles paired the rookies with proven help, Benjamin St-Juste leading the way. They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick-by-Pick
Amarius Mims is a better player than pick 36 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Somehow Adonai Mitchell was still sitting there in No. 52, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Ja'Tavion Sanders in the 54th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
By-the-book stuff, Payton Wilson at pick No. 67 squarely in line with his ranking. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
A straight-up fair deal on Zak Zinter at the 97th pick, value and slot in agreement. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A tidy little value on Tykee Smith in Round 3, Pick 37, a step better than break-even. The roster fit checks out.
Mohamed Kamara in slot 120 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Justin Eboigbe in pick No. 137. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Steal is underselling it; Luke McCaffrey at the 163rd overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Value with a capital V on Braelon Allen in Round 5, Pick 36, a genuine coup. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Jaylin Simpson at the 178th pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Erick All in pick 243 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A need, and now a little less of one.
