The Cowboys torched the value chart for Trey Moore, taking him 48 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.
The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. For all the activity, wide receiver went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Muhammad pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 12 they get a press-man option on the boundary. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They jumped the gun on Zakee Wheatley, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
A straight-up fair deal on Domonique Orange at No. 75, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A tidy bit of business in pick 112, where Malik Muhammad graded well above the range. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Trey Moore at the 130th pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It adds depth where they could use a little.
