The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Ryan Flournoy, the Round 7 slot, roughly 40 picks past where he belonged. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Tyler Guyton. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
You do not let a cornerback like Kool-Aid McKinstry reach pick No. 56 and blink. They did not. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They did well to land Blake Corum in pick 87, just ahead of his grade. It fills a real need, too.
Nothing to complain about; Javion Cohen went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Jaylan Ford at No. 216 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
The board fumbled Curtis Jacobs all the way to Round 7, Pick 13, and they scooped it up. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Ryan Flournoy in slot 244 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
