After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Patriots committed. Jayden Daniels is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline.

Jones falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. Sinnott has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.5 · Pick 5 · Jayden Daniels · QB · rank 7
Jayden Daniels in No. 5 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The roster fit checks out.
R2.2 · Pick 34 · Troy Fautanu · OT · rank 26
Value with a capital V on Troy Fautanu in the Round 2 slot, a genuine coup. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R2.5 · Pick 37 · Adonai Mitchell · WR · rank 33
Adonai Mitchell at slot 37 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R3.4 · Pick 68 · T.J. Tampa · CB · rank 49
They robbed the room for T.J. Tampa here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
R3.5 · Pick 69 · Devontez Walker · WR · rank 64
A reasonable price with a little left over, Devontez Walker in pick No. 69. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R4.4 · Pick 104 · Dominick Puni · OT · rank 91
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Dominick Puni at Round 4, Pick 4 is the proof. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R4.5 · Pick 105 · Ben Sinnott · TE · rank 132
They reached a country mile for Ben Sinnott at pick 105, and the board is aghast. A need, and now a little less of one.
R6.7 · Pick 182 · Jarrian Jones · CB · rank 149
Circle this one: Jarrian Jones at the 182nd pick is a fall that decides a draft. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
R7.9 · Pick 229 · Frank Gore Jr. · RB · rank 224
Fair-plus on Frank Gore Jr., a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
