Start where it matters. The Patriots took Drake Maye to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Mitchell. The phones were where this weekend was really won.
Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Adding Tony Pollard by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

In slot 3 they get the arm they will build around. A real need, handled.
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Tyler Guyton. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They barely believed it either: Adonai Mitchell still on the board at No. 68. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They will replay Jalen McMillan at Round 4, Pick 3 for years; that is how good the value is. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They robbed the room for Chau Smith-Wade here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Steal is underselling it; AJ Barner at pick 224 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They read the board right and Brevyn Spann-Ford was the payoff at pick No. 232. The roster fit checks out.
