The Dolphins bet big and early on Cedric Gray, 37 picks ahead of the board. Bold does not always mean right.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. Landing Thomas that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
Spending an early pick on OLB-EDGE with quarterback, wide receiver and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
In the end, a coin-flip class: fine today, with a wide range of outcomes ahead.

Kamren Kinchens is a better player than Round 2, Pick 1 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
A reach for Tyler Guyton in No. 35; a little patience would have been rewarded. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Zach Frazier at the 62nd overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Ja'Tavion Sanders slid further than he should have, and pick 66 is lovely value for the tight end. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
