Worthy should have been long gone. The Cowboys pounced, and earned a B.

The Cowboys spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Xavier Worthy, the No. 42 name on the board, in pick 124. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.24 · Pick 24 · JC Latham · OT · rank 18
In the Round 1 slot they get a cornerstone up front. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.24 · Pick 56 · Byron Murphy II · DL · rank 21
Byron Murphy II at the 56th pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It fills a real need, too.
R3.24 · Pick 87 · Kool-Aid McKinstry · CB · rank 19
They will replay Kool-Aid McKinstry at pick 87 for years; that is how good the value is. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R4.24 · Pick 124 · Xavier Worthy · WR · rank 42
The board fumbled Xavier Worthy all the way to the 124th overall pick, and they scooped it up. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R5.38 · Pick 174 · Jaylen Wright · RB · rank 158
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Jaylen Wright at pick No. 174 is the proof. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R6.37 · Pick 212 · Jordan Magee · LB · rank 202
They let Jordan Magee come to them and pounced at Round 6, Pick 37. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R7.25 · Pick 245 · Matthew Jones · OG · rank 242
Nothing to complain about; Matthew Jones went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
