The Cowboys spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Xavier Worthy, the No. 42 name on the board, in pick 124. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a cornerstone up front. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Byron Murphy II at the 56th pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It fills a real need, too.
They will replay Kool-Aid McKinstry at pick 87 for years; that is how good the value is. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
The board fumbled Xavier Worthy all the way to the 124th overall pick, and they scooped it up. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.

Nothing to complain about; Matthew Jones went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
