The board owed the Chiefs one, and it paid up: Tyrone Tracy Jr., the No. 150 name on the board, sitting there at the 173rd pick like a gift left on the doorstep. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
They will regret leaving tight end for another day if the season turns on it. Reaching for Sainristil left real value on the table behind him.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 32nd pick they get a go-to option on the outside. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A conviction pick on Mike Sainristil at slot 64 that the board grades a round light. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
A slide stopped in pick 95, with Trey Benson worth more than the price. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Christian Jones in the Round 4 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
