Philadelphia Eagles

Best value of the weekend goes to the Eagles for Williams: B.

The Eagles spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Isaiah Williams, the No. 198 name on the board, in the 243rd pick. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.

They will need Jones to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman.

Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.22 · Pick 22 · Terrion Arnold · CB · rank 20
In the 22nd overall pick they get a lockdown presence outside. The biggest hole, addressed.
R2.18 · Pick 50 · Tyler Guyton · OT · rank 39
Nice patience on Tyler Guyton, who had no business lasting to the 50th pick. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R2.22 · Pick 54 · Javon Bullard · S · rank 66
They paid up for Javon Bullard at pick 54 when waiting would have done the job. It fills a real need, too.
R3.34 · Pick 97 · Audric Estime · RB · rank 98
Audric Estime in slot 97 is fair value, right on his grade. The roster fit checks out.
R5.1 · Pick 137 · Jaheim Bell · TE · rank 140
They took Jaheim Bell at par in Round 5, Pick 1, which is nothing to complain about. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R5.27 · Pick 163 · Luke McCaffrey · QB · rank 141
Circle this one: Luke McCaffrey at No. 163 is a fall that decides a draft. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R5.36 · Pick 172 · Christian Jones · OT · rank 197
They left a pile of value on the table to take Christian Jones this early at the Round 5 slot. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R6.3 · Pick 178 · Brennan Jackson · DE-EDGE · rank 174
Fair-plus on Brennan Jackson, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R7.23 · Pick 243 · Isaiah Williams · WR · rank 198
You do not let a wide receiver like Isaiah Williams reach Round 7, Pick 23 and blink. They did not. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
