The Chris Braswell selection is the head-turner. The Dolphins reached 23 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
This one needs a full-page explanation: Chris Braswell in Round 2, Pick 1, miles early. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A market-rate tight end, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Ja'Tavion Sanders. It fills a real need, too.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Braden Fiske this early at the Round 3 slot. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They liked Kitan Oladapo enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 155. A minor itch, scratched.
Michael Barrett at pick No. 186 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They jumped the gun on Tanor Bortolini, taking him earlier than his grade liked. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Value said wait; Walter Rouse in pick No. 239 says they were not listening. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
