The Dolphins went off the board in a big way for Tahj Washington, 130 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 27 they get a cornerstone up front. A real need, handled.
A straight-up fair deal on Chris Braswell at the 53rd overall pick, value and slot in agreement. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They talked themselves into Ben Sinnott at the Round 3 slot, and the board did not agree. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A premium they did not need to pay, Kitan Oladapo a notch or two before his time. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
A big swing on Gabe Hall at pick 186, well ahead of any board in the building. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They reached a country mile for Tanor Bortolini at pick No. 199, and the board is aghast. It fills a real need, too.
Tahj Washington at Round 7, Pick 19 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
