If confidence were a draft strategy, the Dolphins would have aced it. Tahj Washington at Round 7, Pick 19 is 140 spots clear of where he belonged. It washes out to a C+, no better and no worse.
Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
So much rides on Patrick Paul that the real verdict is a season or two away.
Pick-by-Pick
A reach for Patrick Paul in slot 35; a little patience would have been rewarded. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Sedrick Van Pran well ahead of where he belonged. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Ben Sinnott. The roster fit checks out.
Value said wait; Grayson Murphy in pick 137 says they were not listening. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They liked Kitan Oladapo enough to skip the value, taking him in No. 155. It adds depth where they could use a little.
