It is the swing that defines the weekend: Kingsley Eguakun in pick No. 241, a good 57 spots before the room expected him. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 21st pick they get protection for the quarterback. A clean fit for the roster.
They talked themselves into Jonah Elliss at the Round 2 slot, and the board did not agree. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A reach on Khristian Boyd in slot 158; the board had better options right there. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
No drama and no debate, Tahj Washington went about where he belonged in the 184th overall pick. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
The board had cheaper options than Evan Williams at No. 198, and it noticed. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Kingsley Eguakun at Round 7, Pick 21 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
