It is the swing that defines the weekend: Kingsley Eguakun in Round 7, Pick 21, a good 57 spots before the room expected him. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
They will answer for taking OLB-EDGE early while quarterback, interior defensive lineman and other spots went begging. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 27 they get a premier pass rusher, though they paid up to get him. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A premium they did not need to pay, Patrick Paul a notch or two before his time. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A want over a need in the 90th overall pick: Javon Solomon adds an OLB-EDGE while quarterback, interior defensive lineman and other spots keeps waiting.
A straight-up fair deal on Tykee Smith at slot 158, value and slot in agreement. It adds depth where they could use a little.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Evan Williams well ahead of where he belonged. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Value with a capital V on Tahj Washington in the Round 6 slot, a genuine coup. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Kingsley Eguakun in the 241st overall pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
