Everything else got attention, and quarterback got none. That is a strange way for the Dolphins to leave a draft.
The Boyd pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 21 they get an anchor for the offensive line at fair value. A real need, handled.
Adisa Isaac in pick 55 is fair value, right on his grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They reached into another round for Khristian Boyd, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Cornelius Johnson at Round 6, Pick 9 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They liked Drake Nugent enough to skip the value, taking him in the Round 6 slot. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Josh Proctor. A minor need, but a need all the same.
