Some picks age like wine; Tykee Smith at slot 101 will need to, sitting 59 spots clear of his grade.
The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. However the rest shakes out, Braswell at that price is a win they earned.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
Jordan Morgan at pick No. 33 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Nice patience on Chris Braswell, who had no business lasting to slot 55. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Mekhi Wingo at Round 3, Pick 27 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A big swing on Tykee Smith at the 101st pick, well ahead of any board in the building. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Fair-plus on Kitan Oladapo, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Value said wait; Cornelius Johnson in No. 166 says they were not listening. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Drake Nugent. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A straight-up fair deal on Kendall Milton at Round 6, Pick 23, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Richard Jibunor this early at slot 241. The roster logic is harder to follow.
