You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Dolphins did exactly that with Jared Wiley in Round 6, Pick 27.
Landing Restrepo that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 24 they get a bendy edge with upside at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Adisa Isaac in slot 56 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Justin Eboigbe at the 161st overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Jared Wiley. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Xavier Restrepo at the 245th pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
