If confidence were a draft strategy, the Dolphins would have aced it. Jared Wiley at the 245th pick is 45 spots clear of where he belonged. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. That Barrett pick is the receipt they will wave around later. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

In No. 24 they get a bendy edge with upside, even if it was a touch early. The biggest hole, addressed.
A market-rate edge rusher, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jonah Elliss. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They paid up for Justin Eboigbe at slot 161 when waiting would have done the job. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Michael Barrett at Round 6, Pick 27 is money in the bank, a linebacker taken below his worth. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
