You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Dolphins did exactly that with Mohamed Kamara in the Round 3 slot. Some smart calls, some head-scratchers, and a C+ in the wash.
A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. They gave back a little on the phones for the right to move.
Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Not a disaster, not a triumph, just a middling class.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 26 they get a lockdown presence outside. Need was not the driver here.
They jumped the gun on Adisa Isaac, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Value said wait; Mohamed Kamara in pick 89 says they were not listening. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Ben Sinnott in the 133rd pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They talked themselves into Justin Eboigbe at No. 159, and the board did not agree. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A real head-scratcher, Xavier Restrepo in Round 6, Pick 25 is miles ahead of his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They took Edefuan Ulofoshio at par in Round 7, Pick 23, which is nothing to complain about. It fills a real need, too.
