The Dolphins put a flag in the ground for Ben Sinnott, 24 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. A weekend of give and take that grades a C+.
Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The dealing tilted against them, just enough to notice. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
In the end, a coin-flip class: fine today, with a wide range of outcomes ahead.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 26 they get a problem off the edge, though they paid up to get him. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
They paid a round early for Adisa Isaac in No. 54, more than the board wanted. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Tykee Smith in Round 3, Pick 26 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Ben Sinnott at pick No. 133 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Justin Eboigbe at slot 159 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Xavier Restrepo this early at the 200th overall pick. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Walter Rouse in the Round 7 slot is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
