The Dolphins looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Dwight McGlothern at Round 6, Pick 13 regardless, 32 picks early. Call it a C+ and check back in two years.
They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Restrepo. A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
It grades out a shrug today, with plenty of room to move either way.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 26 they get a disruptor off the edge, reach and all. The biggest hole, addressed.
Adisa Isaac in pick 54 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They paid sticker price for Tykee Smith in pick No. 89, and that is fine. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
They reached into another round for Ben Sinnott, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Justin Eboigbe in the Round 5 slot is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They talked themselves into Dwight McGlothern at Round 6, Pick 13, and the board did not agree. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
A slide stopped in pick 200, with Michael Barrett worth more than the price. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A wide receiver of that caliber at Round 7, Pick 23 is the definition of value, full stop. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
