Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Adisa Isaac at pick No. 22 is 41 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline.
The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. However the rest shakes out, Tampa at that price is a win they earned.
Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
It grades out a shrug today, with plenty of room to move either way.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 22 they get a premier pass rusher, though the board says they badly overpaid. The biggest hole, addressed.
The board had T.J. Tampa higher than pick 54, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
A wild overpay on Jordan Jefferson in the 159th pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Josh Proctor at Round 6, Pick 11 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and JD Bertrand at No. 200 is the proof. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A real head-scratcher, Tanner McLachlan in the Round 7 slot is miles ahead of his ranking. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
