The Dolphins spent real capital to be 49 picks early on Dwight McGlothern, and the board is going to hold them to it. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. They went 3 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
The dealing was even money, start to finish.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 22 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare, even if it was a touch early. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A conviction pick on Adisa Isaac at the 54th overall pick that the board grades a round light. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Jordan Jefferson at the Round 5 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Jalen Green this early at Round 6, Pick 11. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Dwight McGlothern at pick 200 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
A wild overpay on Tanner McLachlan in No. 243, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A need, and now a little less of one.
