There is conviction, and then there is this. The Dolphins took Marcus Harris a full 38 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend.
Hadden falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. On the needs board they went 2 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 21 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A reach for Adisa Isaac in pick No. 53; a little patience would have been rewarded. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
The board fumbled Kamal Hadden all the way to the 158th overall pick, and they scooped it up. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Josh Proctor at the 186th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
A wild overpay on Marcus Harris in Round 6, Pick 24, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Tanner McLachlan. It fills a real need, too.
