You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Dolphins did exactly that with Marcus Harris in pick 199. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 21 they get a building block for the line. A real need, handled.
No drama and no debate, Chris Braswell went about where he belonged in slot 53. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They paid a round early for Grayson Murphy in the 158th overall pick, more than the board wanted. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They reached a country mile for Jared Wiley at No. 186, and the board is aghast. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Marcus Harris in the 199th pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Demani Richardson. A minor need, but a need all the same.
