The one they had to fix is still broken. The Dolphins left quarterback untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
Reaching for Hall left real value on the table behind him. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 21 they get a bendy edge with upside, even if it was a touch early. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A straight-up fair deal on Ja'Tavion Sanders at slot 53, value and slot in agreement. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Kitan Oladapo at No. 158 is a conviction pick that outran the value. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
A big swing on Gabe Hall at the 186th overall pick, well ahead of any board in the building. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Christian Jones in the Round 6 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Xavier Thomas at pick No. 242 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
